A Railway Station

A railway station is a place where trains stop for the passengers to get into and get off from the train. It is a busy place. It becomes very busy because of the arrival of trains. Here the passengers are found to stand in a queue  to collect their tickets in front of the ticket counter. A big station is always crowded with passengers, hawkers, and posters. There are bookstalls, book-sellers and waiting rooms in such a stations. Vendors shout to sell their products. When a train reaches at the station, the passengers hurry to get off from the train. At the same time passengers waiting for the train want to get on the train. As a result, a collision of two groups of passengers takes place. The whistling sound of the departing train creates a situation of vacuum in the minds of the passengers. When the train leaves the station, it becomes deserted. A railway station is often a den for the anti-social elements. It is a suitable place for the beggars to carry on their trade. It is an unhygienic place too. The authority should look into it.

একটি রেলওয়ে স্টেশন

রেলওয়ে স্টেশন হল এমন একটি জায়গা যেখানে যাত্রীদের ট্রেনে ওঠা এবং ট্রেন থেকে নামার জন্য ট্রেন থামে। এটি একটি ব্যস্ত জায়গা। ট্রেন আসার কারণে এটি খুব ব্যস্ত হয়ে পড়ে। এখানে যাত্রীদের টিকিট কাউন্টারের সামনে লাইনে দাঁড়িয়ে টিকিট সংগ্রহ করতে দেখা যায়। একটি বড় স্টেশন সর্বদা যাত্রী, হকার এবং পোস্টারে ভিড় করে। এই ধরনের স্টেশনগুলিতে বইয়ের দোকান, বই-বিক্রেতা এবং ওয়েটিং রুম রয়েছে। বিক্রেতারা তাদের পণ্য বিক্রি করার জন্য চিৎকার করে। যখন একটি ট্রেন স্টেশনে পৌঁছায়, যাত্রীরা ট্রেন থেকে নামার জন্য তাড়াহুড়ো করে। একই সঙ্গে ট্রেনের অপেক্ষায় থাকা যাত্রীরা ট্রেনে উঠতে চান। ফলে যাত্রীদের দুই গ্রুপের সংঘর্ষ হয়। ছেড়ে যাওয়া ট্রেনের হুইসেলের আওয়াজ যাত্রীদের মনে শূন্যতার পরিস্থিতি তৈরি করে। ট্রেন স্টেশন ছেড়ে গেলে নির্জন হয়ে যায়। রেলস্টেশন প্রায়ই অসামাজিকদের আস্তানা হয়ে থাকে। ভিক্ষুকদের ব্যবসা করার জন্য এটি একটি উপযুক্ত স্থান। এটি একটি অস্বাস্থ্যকর জায়গাও বটে। কর্তৃপক্ষের বিষয়টি খতিয়ে দেখা উচিত।

A RAILWAY STATION 

A railway station is a very common place where trains stop and starts from. It is the part and parcel of train communication system of a country. It may be a big or a small one. There is only one platform in a small railway station but there are two or more platforms in a big station. There are two signals -- one inner and the other outer. These signals are got down by the pointsman before the arrival of a train. The pointsman moves with red and green flags. There are ticket counters, booking office for goods, station master's office, waiting rooms for male and female  passengers  in a railway station. There are also restaurants, book-shops, tea-shops, newspaper-stand, etc. in a station. A railway station always remains crowded  with passengers, hawkers , porters  and the vagabonds. Before getting into a train the passengers buy tickets from the ticket counter and wait in the waiting rooms. When a train arrives, the station becomes very busy. Everyone moves in a hurry. When the train leaves, the station becomes a calm and quiet place. A railway station plays an important role in the communication system of a country. So it has to be facilitated with modern amenities

একটি রেলওয়ে স্টেশন একটি খুব সাধারণ জায়গা যেখানে ট্রেন থামে এবং শুরু হয়। এটি একটি দেশের ট্রেন যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থার অংশ এবং পার্সেল। এটি একটি বড় বা একটি ছোট এক হতে পারে. একটি ছোট রেলস্টেশনে একটি মাত্র প্ল্যাটফর্ম থাকলেও একটি বড় স্টেশনে দুটি বা তার বেশি প্ল্যাটফর্ম থাকে। দুটি সংকেত রয়েছে - একটি ভিতরের এবং অন্যটি বাইরের। এই সিগন্যালগুলো ট্রেন আসার আগেই পয়েন্টসম্যান নামিয়ে দেয়। পয়েন্টসম্যান লাল এবং সবুজ পতাকা নিয়ে চলে। রেলওয়ে স্টেশনে টিকিট কাউন্টার, পণ্য বুকিং অফিস, স্টেশন মাস্টারের অফিস, পুরুষ ও মহিলা যাত্রীদের জন্য ওয়েটিং রুম রয়েছে। একটি স্টেশনে রেস্টুরেন্ট, বইয়ের দোকান, চায়ের দোকান, খবরের কাগজ-স্ট্যান্ড ইত্যাদিও রয়েছে। একটি রেলস্টেশন সবসময় যাত্রী, ফেরিওয়ালা, কুলি এবং ভবঘুরেদের ভিড়ে থাকে। ট্রেনে ওঠার আগে যাত্রীরা টিকিট কাউন্টার থেকে টিকিট কিনে ওয়েটিং রুমে অপেক্ষা করে। যখন একটি ট্রেন আসে, তখন স্টেশনটি খুব ব্যস্ত হয়ে পড়ে। সবাই তাড়াহুড়ো করে চলে। ট্রেন ছেড়ে গেলে, স্টেশনটি একটি শান্ত এবং নিরিবিলি জায়গায় পরিণত হয়। একটি দেশের যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থায় একটি রেলস্টেশন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে। তাই এটিকে আধুনিক সুযোগ-সুবিধা দিয়ে সাজাতে হবে।
